About Tritium In Watches

Sherman, Let's talk about Tritium.

ABOUT TRITIUM (H3)…
Tritium is a radioactive isotope of hydrogen, and is typically encapsulated in small glass vials coated with a phosphorescent paint. These vials glow for approximately 15 years without any degradation. It is used in some of these watches as well as on gun sights for military and law enforcement use. These watches are quite bright and if held close to a page in the dark, they can provide enough illumination to read text at very close distance. These vials produce less exposure to radiation than a normal person is exposed to in the course of their normal day. However, don't eat your watch.
