FREK Tool

(Fast Response Escape Knife)

When a government client asked for a more aggressive rescue cutter than the Gerber Emergency Escape Knife that could easily cut through the thicker webbing used in cargo straps the FREK (Fast Response Escape Knife) came to answer the call.
Weighing in at 56.5 grams (including the sheath) the FREK is a simple device used to cut ropes, webbing, parachute cord, seat belts, harnesses, fishing nets and more. The fiberglass sheath has a clip on the back to allow it to be attached to tactical vests, MOLLE equipment, rappel harnesses and dive equipment. This tool is bound to be popular with fishermen, kite surfers, power kiters, wind surfers, sailors, mountaineers and many more action sports that require emergency rope or string cutting.

  • Blades: Stainless steel 420J2B with heavy serrations.

lawyerA Note From Our Legal Department: While the Fast Response Escape Knife (FREK) is considered a safety tool, extreme caution must be used with it due to the blades wide opening (about 1/2") and partially exposed serrated blade. We recommend the FREK be used only by experienced rescue personnel.
