this may be the best flashlight ever. It's heavy and substantial, works perfectly, and impressively well made. Dangerously bright and it can get hot. Serious piece of equipment.
Bought one and brought it on a road trip to my buddy's ranch on the outskirts of Tahoe National Forest. My friend was impressed with how useful it was and liked it so much that I ended up gifting it to him. I obviously had to buy another one for myself and this one I'm not going to give up. I've had lights from other manufacturers that were double/triple the price of this one and did not have the build quality, brightness and features as this one, especially for this price. The best feature is how the batteries are user replaceable. If they do another drop, I highly suggest you get one.
Our son was walking our pandemic puppy late in the evening and was chased by a coyote. We purchased the Apollo Extreme so we could see if a coyote was lurking in the woods. Using the Turbo setting, we illuminated the entire woods! Yes, it is that bright. And it's very well made. Highly recommended.
Excellent build quality, and extremely bright; as others have mentioned there isn't a huge difference in brightness between the high and turbo modes, and it does get kinda hot at the two higher brightness settings, but that's to be expected.
I'd like to see a version with an adjustable beam focus, and integrated charging.
Although the rotating lanyard C-clip is good, a more robust supplied lanyard would be nice. I don't particularly trust the skinny C-clip attachment loop end of the supplied Lumintop brand lanyard to provide long-term retention of the relatively heavy light, so I braided an adjustable paracord lanyard. There appear to be two supplied lanyard styles; some of the product photos show the version I received, and other photos show a version where the entire lanyard is the same cord diameter, which would have been my preference.
I just installed two motion sensor security lights on our property. They put out 12,000 lumens each. The Apollo Extreme will cancel out these lights and illuminate a bigger area out to our 400 yard tree line and across the 100 yard perimeter. This is an area denial illumination tool of the first order. Build, fit ,and finish is the usual fine CC quality. The light is heavy but fits the hand and fills the hand, and yes it gets hot, quite hot. I have warmed my hands with the beam on high, which came in handy at the time. A truly awesome light.
