Limited Production Run 1 of 100
- Original Use Unknown - Classified
The original government use is unknown for this product. We have a very limited overrun of the AL Anodized Ultimate EDC Capsule (Waterproof). We are not quite sure what Uncle Sam is putting in his lightweight capsules, but we are using ours to keep small important items close and secure. Brand new, never used, overrun from government contract.
Now in new Tumbled OD Green Finish
I own 2 and they are just as described. Get one, you’ll find something to put in it. Good to have around
This capsule is well worth every penny if you're keeping valuable items inside. The fine threads and its o-ring make for a very good water-proof setup. Its heft...well it's awesome. This thing will most definitely take a beating and, as long as there's padding inside, protect the more delicate safe-keeps.
Only issues are its size and aesthetics. It feels smaller in diameter to a paint can & shorter than a can of shaving cream. The surface feels like the melonite on a barrel. It's really too big & heavy to carry on your person. It also looks just odd enough not to blend in with things if hiding in plain sight...it stands out. This leaves you with carrying it in bag or putting it in a safe. One thing I haven't figured out for myself...should I put some type of paracord lanyard or a carabiner through the lids hole?
Even with its oddness, it's one of those items that you'll need one day IF you don't buy it. I think if you're contemplating this or the Delrin and are only getting one...go with the Delrin. Saves you ~$20, lighter in weight, & still just as cool/odd/etc...w/o the weight.
(If you're involved with geocaching...this is perfect.)
