The Brass Flint Wheel is used in survival tins and is extremely compact for EDC gear. You can now easily ignite tinder and other flammable goods for camping and survival needs.
Could be a real challenge trying to light a fire with gloves on, but the device is well made
Ultra reliable and extremely compact, these are easily stashed in various kits/locations. I have sewn a compartments into the sweatbands of my EDW ballcaps for this striker and a 6" long piece of waxed jute, secured by a small brass safety pin. I don't notice it at all while wearing, yet it provides another layer of fire-starting capability that I constantly have on my person whenever I'm outdoors. I also have a SERE compass attached to the hat adjustment strap, using a thin, 1/2" wide brass loop that I've JB-welded to the back (like a watch band compass). You won't be disappointed with this striker!
First of all its a wonderful product, but with one flaw; its on the small side. I would gladly rate the product a 5, if only it were a few inches longer. Difficult to handle with large hands.
