Shears are marked "Maratac™ stainless steel" and exhibit Maratac's usual attention to detail. These are truly top shelf tools.
These are your basic full size EMT / paramedic super shear with a couple major twists. We had the blades made with a black durable passivated low-light finish on the stainless steel blades. The handles are made of impact resistant composite in ACU (army combat uniform) grey color. Their uses in the real world are limitless. Besides their obvious first aid uses, they also cut flex-cuffs off prisoners, open burlap bags when searching for contraband, open MREs and they even cut coins. WMD specialists always have a couple pairs with them. Labeled "Maratac™ stainless steel".
These are probably much better than their Chinese or Indian counterparts. I have always used the free ones from work and never had a problem, but these elevate my coolness factor and make me the envy of the peasants that still use the issue stuff. Be cool like me and get a pair, just don't let the pretty nurse at the ER borrow them, you will never see them again.
Thank you for carrying quality and having the answer to the age old question, “what do I get the woodsman who has everything?”
I have a bunch with the black blade and they work great, they seem more sturdy then some of the other EMT shears that I own, will be buying more from CountyComm
