When the U.S. Military contacted us for a way to organize and store oral and injectable medications in the field, we provided these tube vaults. Once we had them in our hands we discovered their uses were endless.
These storage tubes are food and pharmaceutical grade crush resistant (not much in life is "crush proof") polyethylene terephthalate (PET). They come with air tight, liquid tight tamper evident caps. They are also dishwasher safe and made in the usa.
(Container volume: 50ml or aprox. 2oz)
How our staff members are using them: some have already liberated for the following purposes: geocaching, sewing kits, detergent for those trips to the laundromat, flavored drink concentrates, thermometers, cotton swabs, mini survival capsule, the ultimate match safe, spare CR123 batteries, emergency money, tea, spices and sugar. Carry a double dose of cold medicine into the field leaving the big bottle at home. The possible uses are endless.
How is Uncle Sam using tube vaults? Military pharmacists insert glass medication bottles inside the vaults, they screw on the tamper evident seals and then issue them to the medics in the field. The pharmacists can even scan bar codes through the vault. Once the medication is in the field, the vaults protect the glass medication vials from dirt, dust and crushing. When the medic returns from the field, doing inventory of his pharmaceuticals is easy. If the tamper resistant seal is in place the medication wasn't used. If the seal is broken, it's been used and needs to be replaced. They can even rinse the dust off the outside without getting the inside contents moist. How will you use yours?
Tube Vault comes with 1 white tamper proof cap.
Also available International Orange tamper proof cap pack (10 Caps)
I am a happy purchaser of several Tube Vaults which have been used for years to protect small items, store batteries, store a basic survival kit, carry and/or store medications; to top it off it is pretty much unbreakable for normal use and witertight. Love 'em!
I have at least 10 of these. They are very durable. Great for B.O.B's. I store Firearm lubes & cleaning solutions. They are great for battery storage
This is great if you want a strong and large multipurpose carrying tube for a variety of things. I don't usually go for glass but these help with visibility of the contents. I bought these as gifts for people, and they were puzzled at first but I explained some possible uses for it. They'll find some neat use for it eventually.
The soda bottle style cap is neat though of course after the first closure and opening, you'll have the bottom ring break off by design. That's a tamper-evident design; for example, if you buy a soda bottle and see it's already broken, the seal may have been compromised and that's the indicator.
If you just want to give someone something as a basic pill/medicine holder, consider something smaller.
Always a nice item and I probably should just buy a bunch at once, but I order often enough these days that just get them as I need them. I have never broken one. I have used them, I have lost them, I have loaned them and not had them returned, and I have gifted them away. But I have never broken one.
