U.S. Made / Limited Production Run
We originally sourced Technician's Pocket Screwdriver for use by a large government contractor. Over the years the client ordered them in several variations.
This is the latest evolution called: The 1X4 Deluxe Technician's Pocket Screwdriver. The client was very demanding about the specifications of this U.S. Made screwdriver. It features a body made out of AL-6061-T6 aluminum and screw on caps on both ends. The top cap features a 303 grade stainless steel clip secured by Allen screws and there’s a neodymium magnet on the top. There’s no doubt that this is a quality tool that will be worthy of a place in your shirt pocket or your bug out bag.
2 tool bits provide 4 working tips all made of heat treated s2 tool steel.
2 Slotted: 1/16" and 1/8"
2 Phillips: #P0 - #P00
5" Length x .5" Width
Note these are the same bits that are used in 1x4 Technician’s Pocket Screwdrivers sold and marketed by CountyComm, Maratac and EOD Robotics, so you may already have spare bits at home.
Screwdriver comes pre-packed in a Tube Vault for long term storage.
This little tool is awesome and worth it’s value in its construction alone. At first I was debating if I should purchase the composite one, but I really wanted one that will last a long time.
After getting sick of cheap plastic precision screwdrivers for electronics work, and frustrated with bulky precision screwdriver kits, I purchased the Alodine finish version of the Technicians Pocket Screwdriver.
So far I love it. It feels very nicely made and the quality of the screwdriver bits is superb. Initially they were a bit tough to remove and insert, but it has gotten a bit easier with use, yet the bits are still firmly held when inserted in the handle.
The only minor quibble I have is the fact that the pocket clip rubs on the barrel of the screwdriver when putting the cap back on, and it has scratched through the alodine finish. Just a cosmetic thing, and I am not too worried as the screwdriver is likely to get quite beaten up looking in daily use anyway.
Overall it is a very nicely made tool that I highly recommend.
Ok, I have looked at this for a few years now. I really didn't think I needed it. I have several of the plastic counterparts and they were ok. Then one day I decided ok was not good enough for me and ordered one of these. Wow. The difference is unbelievable. I feel like a professional now. This thing will last a lifetime. Leave the plastic crap to the guys that swear by Harbor Freight tools. This is meant to be used by tool aficionados. Thank you County Comm for delivering me from evil.
