Great light on both low/high beams. Very solid construction and works great on a key ring. Highly recommended.
Design appealed to me (no leftover piece to get mislaid before next needed). Is remarkably bright and turns very smoothly. The tiny size and good light gives it a permanent place on my keychain. Only suggestion for improvement is to put a dimmer LED inside to show charge state - this one tries to light up the room when charging at night (so I cover it with a bit of cloth).
Ordered two of these Brass Peanut LED Flashlight kits, V.2...one for me, and one as a gift for a friend. I can only speak about mine, as I sent his on to him without opening it. After he has opened it and gotten back to me, I may try to update this with his info, if there's anything important to add.
But, as for my light...I love it! I also have the earlier version, without the more aggressive knurling, and with the added piece which must be exchanged for the head of the light to use the micro-USB charger. This new light is just a touch longer, because, I presume, the micro-USB slot is now a permanent part of the flashlight. The size difference is not dramatic, this is still a very tiny light. They're both very bright, for their size. I love everything about both of these lights, and the more aggressive knurling and "built-in" charger on the V.2 unit is a nice addition.
So...why did I only give it 4 stars? Well, on my unit, when I put the battery in and assembled it, I found that the head had to be left "extremely" loose, so as not to turn on the light. And, the head turned way too easily...such that, when carried, I have no doubt that the head would either come completely unthreaded and detach itself from the flashlight body, or the head would thread itself further onto the light, activating it in a pocket. Neither of these seems a great outcome. So...I took one of the 5 spare o-rings that are included with this kit, and installed it on to the threads on that end of the light with the head. It's not quite so simple as it sounds, because while trying to install it, the o-ring invariably seats itself into the cut-out for the micro-USB port, and the only way I could get it out of there and further up on to the threads where I wanted it, was with a tiny pair of tweezers from my SAK. I was concerned that I might damage the o-ring with the tweezers, but I don't believe that I did. Now, the head has more "grip" on the threads, and stays fairly well in place. ...
LOVE it! Lives in my shirt pocket and I hardly know it’s there. Great light. 👍👍👍
