SHOT Show 2021 CANCELED. What are we going to do?
Those of you that have attended the County Comm Hospitality Suite at the SHOT Show, know that we always have a special that is not available on our website for our visitors. This year we upped our game by commissioning a small run of quality custom knives.
We had 150 Custom Kwaiken Elite Knives made for the 2021 Shot Show by Boker.
These knives use M390 Steel that is superior to our old favorite D2 and sports Red Marble carbon fibre handles. This is the first of it's kind. There will be no more. It is sure to be a collector's item.
The ultra fast flipper knife was designed by Lucas Burnley's for Boker. This exclusive variant will not be made again and is the top of the line variant in both materials and quality.
As others have said, extraordinary build quality and attention to detail but what was overlooked was, Loctite on the pivot screw. Minor complaint but one you wouldn't expect, to have been overlooked, on a premium knife. I see from another review, that I'm not the only one to have experienced this.
I've always heard that the really expensive knives are amazing. They have to be seen and held to be believed. That once I bought one I'd never want to go back to a sub hundred dollar knife.
I had a few extra dollars and I really like Boker, so I thought I'd take the dive to see what everyone was talking about.
Like other have complained about it does seem to stick a little. Hopefully that will go away after a little oil. Other than that, It's a great knife. Really sharp, comfortable in the hand/pocket and attractive.
Is it worth 3 hundred dollars? That's subjective. Not in my opinion. That's not to say I don't like it, I do. I gave it five stars and it deserves five stars, but it's only marginally better than much cheaper models. It's a very functional and sturdy display piece.
I've been collecting knives my whole life. I've had my eye on a few different variations of the boker kwaiken. I was never really impressed with the steel choices for the blade. I was waiting for a partial metallurgy choice. When county comm collaborated with boker and out not only a partial metallurgy option but m390, arguably the best knife steel currently available. Full titanium frame lock and crazy red and black marbled carbon fiber to top it off make this knife the pinnacle of production knives. The ikbs system runs unbelievably smooth. Fit and finish are fantastic. This quickly became one of my favorite knives.
