I received my Mid-Range Bag Rev 3 in Tan on July 11th as part of the 2017 pre release.
I really like the color of this bag and the first thing I did was add a small black pouch to one end and a Nalgene bottle sized mesh pouch on the other; they work very well on this bag.
The bags layout is near perfect I did immediately remove one of the hard pocket reinforcements as I didn’t feel it necessary to have two right next to each other although leaving that choice up to the owner of the bag is brilliant. I have actually replaced the reinforcement with a coated metal plate that I use as my mouse pad, transporting a laptop is one of my main reasons for this bag.
I'm used to the quality of YKK zippers. This must be YKKs top line because I’ve never seen zippers as robust as the ones on this bag.
The shoulder strap is another impressive note on this bag. The reinforced wrap is great and the hooks don’t open as easily when the load is applied.
On the County Comm website, there is a product image showing a radio in one of the pockets on the end of the bag. There is a pocket on each end with similar pockets mirrored on the inside of the bag. These four pockets have safely carried cables, chargers, hard drives, battery packs, the bags shoulder strap, gloves and a plethora of tools. Even with the pockets full of stuff the PALS is still accessible and useful.
Something that may have been nice or could be included in a future rendition of the bag is the coated bottom the PTC - Pilot Tool Carrier By Maratac, especially if they could match the color some what.
The only problem I’ve seen with this bag is the finished product, on both the handle and the main compartment flap the stitching holding the hook and loop is coming out, especially on the handle it's not just one or two threads its flat out deteriorating. For a bag that’s just over a month old, this is a pretty significant problem to me and I hope this gets addressed in the product line.
I was having trouble justifying the 330 dollar filson price tag for the laptop bag I needed for work, so I headed over to the best website around and, after perusing the flashlight section to add to my ever growing collection, I stumbled upon this guy. This bag is awesome. Well made with sturdy zippers and stitching. Plenty of storage and fits my 14" laptop well. The rigid dividers help protect the contents of the bag. Plenty of Velcro places for patches! Got it on sale and had a coupon. Can't beat it!
I've put this up against the comparable, but WAY more expensive Maxpedition...and guess what: Maratac beats it hands down. Dunno how Maxpedition stay in business when Maratac wipe the floor with them on price and real world practicality
It looks a bit overly "tactical" for office work, but... it's pretty much perfect. Will hold a good sized laptop, a portfolio/notebook, documents, a larger battery-charger and cords, legal pads, pens, etc. Molle/PALS if you want a bag with pens, and/or flashlight, pocket knife, multi-tool, etc. (because some of us office-types are EDC-crazed, too)... nice bag. Much of the time I'll remove t the inserts/dividers, save some weight and add a bit more space, though this does make the bag less rigid and less.... divided. !. It's nice to have the option to leave them in or take them out. Great zippers.

i ordered this bag in gray, but I received a tan one, in error. It took me about five minutes to resolve the problem, and I had the new bag delivered in about three days. It's nice to deal with a reputable company, whose products are excellent!
I use mine daily, for nearly 3 years. Carry work laptop, personal laptop, portfolio, EDC items and tools. Only repair was to secure velcro to inner storage pouch. I'll stay with black.
I have had mine awhile. Can't imagine how it could be improved. Nonetheless, it is one sturdy case. No one bag can meet everyones' needs. But with the pals loops (attachment ladders) you can customize it to suit your requirements. It's a case worthy of a look and consideration.
