After drooling over CountyComm products for years, I finally decided to take the plunge. My girlfriend and I play dice nearly every night, so this was the perfect excuse to splurge on some high end titanium dice. I was able to get everything I needed right from CountyComm and I couldn't be happier with the setup. I grabbed 5 pairs of these amazing titanium dice. A Tubaton XL, which can hold 10 dice if you mill out the thicker cap, so the corners of the die will fit into the empty space. Or leave it as is and carry 9 with a little extra space. I also picked up a Jumbo silicone parts tray, as a rolling surface, to prevent the dice from scratching/denting wood tables. I wasn't sure if I would like rolling on silicone, but it's turned out to be one of my favorite parts of the setup. As it also helps contain the dice so they don't roll onto the floor in the heat of the game. As our score-pad, I picked up the carbon fiber pocket notebook. It's the perfect size and the weatherproof feature makes camping game nights worry free. Now the best part, CountyComm threw in a POP pen as well as the Large Armada Weave zip bag, as a promo for spending a certain amount. Both perfectly usable for my setup, since the bag perfectly fits the parts tray and all the items needed to play. I have since swapped out the pop pen for a copper embassy pen and I feel the setup is complete. I did some entropic (Ferric Chloride) flame anodizing on both the dice and the Tubaton XL. This was my first go at attempting this finish and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. Sadly I have found that all of this awesomeness still doesn't make me any better at dice.....
I love dice. I collect them and occasionally use them for games. I love the way these feel in hand. Despite their light weight, they are satisfying to fidget with. I was initially a bit bothered by very minor inconsistencies in the surface finish, but after some pocket carry and rattling against each other they're picking up some nice, light character marks that distract from the light machining marks.
I am considering getting some more and trying some heat anodizing with them. If you like dice, get a set of these. They're hard to put down.
Great for board games, just fun.
Great set of lightweight metal dice I'm sure I'll be buying some more for gifts.
