The Maratac® Inspection AAAx2 Extreme LED flashlight is made to be both tactical and practical. The light is straightforward to use and has friendly ergonomics. The Maratac® AAAx2 Extreme features an advance Cree XP-G3 LED for greater brightness and efficiency.

Operation:
- Press and click the back thumb switch to turn on the light into Medium mode. Lightly press again for Low mode and once more for High. Press and click anytime to turn the light off.

The best flashlight is the one you actually have with you. I've been carrying one of these for years, on-and-off. On, because it's a great basic flashlight/inspection light that's extremely lightweight and rugged and compact and easy to carry. (Ever try to see the cotter pins on Cessna aileron hinges? Have one of these in your pocket, and it's easy, even while the height of the wing is doing its best to cause permanent harm to your cervical vertebrae.) Off, because the pocket clip that comes with it (and that CountyComm still sells as a replacement) is junk. The poor thing is extremely fragile, bends at the slightest provocation, and pops completely off when it catches on anything. Once, it did and went walkabout. That's where things stood for a year or two, until I noticed that the clip on one of my Fenix LD-01 single-AAA flashlights looked like it would fit. It did. The CountyComm is back in my pocket. And stays there, for a change.
I blasted the finish to resemble my sebenza. What a handsome pair! Great flashlight, love the interface- smart and simple. The moonlight setting is surprisingly handy… never thought I would use it, but I keep finding applications for it.
One of my favorite EDC lights. Clipped in the corner of the pocket it disappears but sticks up JUST enough to retrieve easily. Modes are well spaced and lunar low is thankfully a true lunar low. Memory function works well and is much appreciated for not blinding oneself if left in Lunar Low. My only gripes are the sharp edges on the head scalloping (could be easily fixed with very fine grit sandpaper) and the 6500k light temp (I’d love to have a 5k or 4500k light temp option in an “inspection” light as examining wiring with a 6500k light is more challenging to identify color). The Ti is very nice and this is probably one of my nicest looking Ti flashlights. Highly recommended unless you need a higher CRI/warmer temp light.
I was really surprised with how light (no pun intended) this is in my hand, while how sturdy it is. The low light mode is extremely low, so it’s really just two beam modes for all intents and purposes but that’s just fine. Fits great in the shirt pocket and doesn’t weigh it down and throws plenty of light. Glad I picked this up.
I started an every day carry (EDC) tool kit years ago when I was a field engineer and quickly learned that nobody in a car dealership could ever find a light or small screwdriver. When I can I try to upgrade my small belt EDC and this new titanium Maratac light is a definite upgrade from the older aluminum version of this light I have used for several years. This light is often the first thing I reach for and is used every day. It does not flicker and the batteries seem to last a long time.
