A Note From Our Legal Department: While this is considered a safety tool, extreme caution must be used with it due to the blade's wide opening. We recommend the Survival Chainsaw be used by experienced campers.
Great compact saw that can come in very handy.
Ultimate Survival Chainsaw
I keep this Saw it its little packing container (hard sided) in my emergency kit. Has a nice long, sharp chain with good handles on both ends. Never used it yet, but I figure it'd cut a while tree down, should one have the effort.
I was able to make quick work of 2" diameter limbs/trunks--both hardwood and softwood (oak and redwood); but a 41/2 " oak log required a lot of effort and probably took me five minutes. Maybe a 10" diameter trunk of very soft wood could be cut in 30 seconds by an extremely strong person, but not by your average outdoorsman. Overall, I would say that it is a good tool for the price.
