Did a little flame patina and slightly polished the high spots with 600 wet dry. I am definitely going to have to get the topo now and do a Rambler.

Excellent upgrade! Although there was a Victorinox classic with black scales included... I prefer the rambler on my EDC, so the TOPO titanium scales went on my rambler. I also received a medium sized titanium breaker bar in a Christmas grab bag and used that to remove the old red cellidor scales, the breaker bar did an excellent job at that task. The old scales held the toothpick and tweezers insecurely. The new ti scales have a firm secure fit, and are a bit more recessed than the original scales. I used a tiny dab of gorilla glue, but the scales did have a nice affirming click during installation.

Also pictured. A chubby ti capsule from county comm, and one of their titanium pens alongs side a Robert Lessard custom climber with ti scales brass cross and small blade swapped for nail file. I am a priest and an Air Force Chaplain so I put my anointing oil in the capsule for last rites. I wish it had some grip on it though as it can be hard to open. The scales are incredible though!

This is a great upgrade if you are among the kind of people like me that enjoy “making all things better”. For sure I would buy the upgrade for the standard size Swiss Army knife if it were to be available. The install was as advertised took 30 seconds.

Nice quality, easy enough to install, just use a thin blade to pry off the factory poly scales. Got this to upgrade the GITD version on my EDC. Ti scales feel like it makes the knife wider, but that's not the case.
