I bought this to keep my watch and knife from scratching my bedside table and thought, it's neat that it glows, but glowing probably isn't all that useful. Wrong. I don't know what they put in this thing but it is BRIGHT, and it glows for at least eight hours. Really amazing. In fact, I've used it to read my watch after the glow on that has faded out. If there's anything you like to keep by the side of your bed that you're worried about fumbling in the dark, put it on this thing. It also has a nice grippy surface. Only downside I can think of is that if you don't sleep with a sleep mask on (you should), it may actually be distracting.
