Great fixed blade for the price

Thick stock d2 steel with a nice stonewash that is essentially the full knife, the scales just give the handle a very comfortable grip. The full grind made it sharp out of box, hair shaving but not insanely sharp, which is still sharper than you would want to resharpen to due to its use, lest you easily fold over the edge or less rarely chip. It's an odd combo with this type of full flat grind on such a thick slab of steel, its blade width works against the overall toughness in this case since it allows so much taper from spine to edge. This can be bad or good depending on use due to allowing you to get it to incredible levels of sharpness at the cost of toughness due to edge stability. ie, this knife wants to be a scalpel but is dressed for time in the bush. The d2 steel is an excellent choice at this price point with the caveat that you will want to keep it oiled or cold blued because it'll rust like any if your other non coated tools (hammer, screwdriver etc). It being nin stainless is a rather small sacrifice for the upgrade of all the other stats that come with d2, and Im happy they chose it tbh. Once again it's a use case dependant preference. the blade shape is my favorite aspect, almost like a spade or camp shovel. its tip is (nearly/exactly?) centered on the blade almost like you would expect from a double edged combat knife, which once again goes against traditional bush knives but in a surprisingly well designed way. the tip is not just centered to the blade but thefull length of the knife including handle, using the rivets you could snap a chalk line from tip to butt and it would be perfectly parallel with the spine. This makes batoning, scoring, and overall cutting feel more intuitive since you don't have to compensate for the tip being higher or lower than your grip. the scales are excellently countoured to fill your hand without any sharp edges, including the perfect amount of jimping behind the quillon (guard that keeps your fingers from slipping onto the blade). I chose the glow in the dark and wasn't anticipating much glow tbh, but i could see it through the packaging when i pulled it out the mailbox upon arrival. Fades from a bright to faint glow over the course of an hour or so, but the faint glow is surprisingly visible for 8+hrs. I chose glow in the dark for the purpose of being able to find it in the dark and it definitely exceeds my expectations for that purpose. Im not sure how that will hold up over time with use given the lite color scales, but if its the epoxy they claim, and I don't doubt it with knife in hand, it should be able to be cleaned due to the it being very chemical resistant. the titanium bolts going through the handle are also a surprising luxury for this price point, they could have cheapened out on stainless or brass but titanium will negate corrosion of the d2 from galvanic effect from two differing steels touching (i think that's the correct term). The titanium bead is also an unnecessary but welcome item that i immediately stole to use on one of my pocket knives. The kydex sheath is run of the mill but the blade snaps in snuggly and securely and is easy to extract with the right amount of thub pressure if you don't have it clipped onto something. the sheath comes with the spring loaded universal style clips that are more useful on duty belts or your backpack than a normal belt, so I personally wouldld have preferred a standard metal deep carry clip but that's easily swappable and found online if you don't already have a few that fit on tek lok hole spacing. I personally removed the clip it came with as it slimmed down the overall profile significantly. It's surprisingly lightweight for the thickness of the blade stock and generous handle scales, feels great in the hand with the balance being roughly between the forward two titanium handle pins. The short blade will make batoning a little bit more difficult on larger diameter branches, but realistically you probably would want a different knife/tool if you were processing alot of wood that's 5in+.

tldr, a very unique set of traits for a small bush knife, with tradeoffs that make it more a general purpose knife than your goto bush knife. given the premium features, well thought out design, and unique qualities, this is easily a $100 knife imo, and i would have brought it at that price after toying around with it for a week. super small negative, the clip style doesn't go with the intended "theme" of this knife imo, which is very much a unique hybrid bush knife, a standard deep metal clip would have been better suited. A++ will probably buy another one or two because it's that unique and a steal at its current price.

This knife is awesome

This knife is the best one I own, better than some triple the price that I have, it’s razor sharp, incredibly solid, fits perfectly in my hand and when the handle is charged with a bright light, It glows insanely bright for hours. I love that it’s limited edition because that makes it more coveted…get one before they disappear, I’m tempted to buy another

Unbeatable value?

The glow handles have a great texture to them: grippy but not abrasive. The heft informs the user of its quality materials. Thick tang, very sharp blade. The holster is quite nice. The lanyard with the little blue titanium piece is of questionable utility but a nice touch. Overall for the price this is a very high quality piece of gear. I don’t think anyone would regret this purchase.

The Best R4A Yet!

This D2 steel beast is back at it again, but this time with double-thick, glow-in-the-dark handle scales that County Comm is not kidding when they call it the Ergo model. Comfort and capability are the names of the game with this knife. The contours of the scales make for a fantastic feel in the hand and the every so slightly matter texture really give them some grip. Charging I just ambient light inside, this thing will literally glow all night. They say the man who sleeps with a knife by his bed is a fool every night but one, and this bad boy is ready for that one time when things do go bump in the night. And it's ready for strapping to a belt or down in a pocket and going on any adventure life might throw at you. The .185 inch thick stock and impressively tempered steel for a great combo equally capable at devouring cardboard, prepping food, processing wood for fire, taking apart game, or any of the other myriad tasks where a keen edge is the tool of choice. County Comm is really, really onto something with this pattern.

A workhorse of a knife

This knife fits the hands quite nice. It has good jimping on the spine so it has good grip without ripping up your thumb. Rope cardboard burlap bark faze it not. I bought two of them so as to give my daughter one. Hers came quite sharp, mine needed some work. Not too much though. The glow from the handle is impressive. Especially if you use one of CC’s laser flashlights to "charge” it. Though not a big deal for me, the spine is rounded off so one wont be able to use a ferrocium rod with it. It’s an all around very nice belt knife. I am happy with my purchase.
