Great assortment of items offered on the CC website. Good if you are into brass items or to give out as gifts. I'm happy overall with this purchase. Also there was possibly another GITD item but not 100 on that.
My wife calls me a "gear-do" and rolls her eyes every time I get a new gadget to play with. While this Brass mystery package doesn't exactly have any new gadgets in it, there are a number of really cool things in it that I might not have bought for myself, but I definitely enjoy having.
The first is the fantastic brass Colossus skull He'll go nicely along side the two different sizes of brass 6-sided dice. I'm a gamer, so I'm absolutely sure that I'll get a lot of jealous looks and questions as to where I got the cool dice. With the little brass ones and the little Delrin ones that I got in a previous mystery box, I've got some of the more unusual ones.
I think that the brass lighter is one that's not available currently, because the size is smaller than the brass XL Peanut lighter that's on the site. I like the fact that it came with a set of spare parts (O-ring, flints, wick) for maintenance.
Finally, the brass thimble. It's awesome, and will be a welcome addition to my tool kit for making things out of paracord
The survival whistle I could take or leave, since I've already got 6 or 7 of them, since they seem to fall into every mystery bag that I order. But, it's one of those things that it's better to have around when you need it, and since I have so many, I've got them stashed everywhere, including my radio bag, all of my range bags, and my car first aid kit.
The 1x1 UGM though... Those are always welcome, even though they seem to find their way into each of the mystery bags that I've bought. Like the signal whistles, they're good to have anywhere you need to be able to find something in a hurry. I have one plastered to the car FAK, which is hanging on a panel on the back of the car seat. Lots of light there, so the glow is always visible.
So, for about $65, I got what amounts to about double the value of the items if purchased separately. And that skull is just too damned awesome.
The dice, peanut lighter, & skull were worth it alone. The brass storage tube & thimble were icing on the cake.
I always enjoy the patina that brass gets and purchasing a grab bag allowed me to get some cool stuff that will age well over time. Gotta love the lighter and dice plus a match capsule, a skull, and the very underrated thimble!
