I bought the split pea, peanut and peanut XL all in titanium.
My split pea arrived with brass tube so tight against the titanium housing that, whenupon filling it for the first time and pulling out the insert by the flint wheel, I pulled the flint wheel and cap clean away from the brass tube leaving the tube stuck in the Ti housing. After fishing the tube out, I did some light filing on the brass tube (on the protruding side of the dimple, where it makes contact with Ti). The whole assembly (tube, cap, wheel) are now snug in the housing but easy to remove without fall apart.
The regular peanut has the best seal of the bunch.
The peanut XL had major leak issues- I sealed it in a small bag overnight and upon opening the next day: the smell of gas was present but it quickly dissipated. I replaced the 0-ring with an o-ring from the county comm kit (a kit I paid money for) but the issue persisted.
I ended up buying an o-ring kit from amazon and after sizing it up (always size up so as to not jack yo threads): It stopped leaking! Or at least so conspicuously... Cool lighters!
Peanut and XL worked well and came with spare seals, flints and wick which is very handy. If you have an issue with one they will make it right.
This came in very handy setting off a ton of Fireworks this New Years 2023! When everyones Bics died... everyone kept borrowing this lighter from me haha. Such a good, well-made lighter. Thanks!
These are great lighters. They do what lighters do, and do it well.
I had received these in various swag bags over the last few months and decided to try my hand at heat anodizing. I think they came out pretty well, and I really like having some one of a kind lighters.
The color pops a lot more in person. I'm apparently better at heat anodizing titanium than I am taking pictures.
The lighters have a nice simple design. Easy to use and lights every time.
I have an older aluminum XL lighter (still works great) but I thought I'd up grade to a titanium one. These lighters are great because the fuel doesn't evaporate in a few days like my Zippo. May have to get me one of the Peanut ones too.
