Each frame is machined from solid blocks of Aircraft Grade 6061 Aluminum with hardened Type III Matt Anodized Finish + Red Release Latch!
The Exoskeleton Poly Hinged Locking Frame was designed to protect your GP radio at all costs. The industrial design adds additional grip with the milled ridges and and also a widened based for extra stability too.
The ridge height on the front and back prevents damaging both the case and screen.
The fire engine red pin lock is easily opened and closed using either the Radio clip as a tool or your finger nail. ( See Video )
The inputs, buttons and and scroll wheels are all accessible while in the exoskeleton frame. The inside is also lined with felt for added protection.

This almost seems like a necessary accessory for the GP-7. The radio has a great form-factor but it does feel a bit fragile in the hand. The exoskeleton adds some extra heft and also makes the edges slightly raised so that you can wrap your man-paws around the unit a little more easily. It will definitely add protection if the radio is dropped and a corner or edge strike were to happen. It is very well designed and was easy to install once I figured out how to open the shell. All the controls are still easy to access and all ports are still available. It does not prevent use of the high sensitivity antenna or regular antenna , which is nice. Also...it looks cool, yeah, I said it. It makes the GP-7 look a bit more pro with the nice flat black aluminum shell. All around, absolutely a must have for and GP-7 owner.
Nice shell, good tight fit with the GP-7/SSB. Shell is robust and overall makes the radio feel more durable.
Excellent design and build quality. This is one of my favorite receivers and this case just made it even better. The 'fit and finish' is superb. All openings are properly spaced and allow for full operation without restrictions. Highly recommend.
This is a nicely machined frame for the GP-7. Low profile, light weight and lined with a felt like material that prevents the radio from rubbing against the aluminum. The slot for the AM Ferrite antenna is a bit snug.
Great fit and quality finish. Looks good. Easy to install. Helps radio stand up on its own . Some kind of cover is really needed to prevent damage to plastic side buttons on gp-7.
The 5volt dc-in area is a bit tight but it will still charge with a wide charging plug. This exoskeleton and maybe a portable reel antenna really complete the GP-7.
