I like this light. It’s well made, and I’ve had good experiences with all my Maratac lights.
I like the throw/spill patterns of the beams for a light of this type.
I like the tail cap button, even at the cost of being able to stand the light up like a candle.
The included split ring, O rings and tiny carabiner are nice touches.
I really dislike the strobe feature. I find it an aggravation when cycling through modes.
I view this as a general purpose/admin light and I view strobes as special purpose tools.
I wish there was a way to deactivate the strobe function, possibly a tab that could be pressed by a pin in the head.
Or, I wish there was a feature that allowed turning the head to lock the light into one mode.
Countycom.com, please let me know if there’s a way to do this that I’ve missed.
Otherwise, I think it’s a very good light. You could spend a lot more money on other brands and get a whole lot less performance and durability.
I've now been using this light for over eight months. I work general construction (rough to finish) and participate in all sorts of random activities where light can be useful, and this thing is always accessible clipped to my belt loop. Don't even notice it's there until I need it. Haven't found another that clips so well in such a convenient spot. Highly recommend.
This is actually my second one(warranty replacement), as the first randomly stopped working.
bought this lil guy a couple months ago and I'm 95% sure I have carried it with me every day and night since. Functions great, love the simplicity but still has everything you need. Absolutely a county comm classic!! would be stoked to see a modular case/holder, a kit, or a glow cap that could still attach when not in use would be cool to see in the future
I purchased this flashlight for my 85 year old Uncle. There seems to be a trend of putting as many modes on a tiny flashlight as possible. I even find many of these lights bewildering and often maddening and I’m 20 years younger. This light is the perfect for a EDC pocket flashlight. It’s the right size to operate with older hands. It’s super bright for older eyes. And after only 5 minutes my uncle knew exactly how to use it. Additionally this light takes simple AAA batteries so he doesn’t have to figure out how to charge it. Oh did I mention that the pocket clip is large enough to easily use. Great flashlight, he loves it.
Nice flashlight, especially since it can use a variety of batteries. Surprisingly bright for its size. I do like the included glow diffuser. I would like to use it with the diffuser as a lamp, but I had difficulty getting it to tail-stand. For that reason I would vote for twist operation.
