MaraSpec Glow Tape Roll
MaraSpec Glow Tape Roll
One of our energy sector clients asked us to supply super bright Glow In The Dark (GITD) stick on marking tape to mark exit ways on their offshore oil rigs. We looked everywhere for a product that was super bright, and had the needed super adhesion properties. Try as we might we couldn’t find a product that met their requirements.
If We Can’t Buy It, Lets Make It!: We teamed up with our watch makers (They know about making things glow) and one of the worlds largest tape manufacturers to make a product that exceeds all of their specifications and our expectations
We call it Maraspec Glow Tape. Each roll of Maraspec Glow Tape is 15’ long X 1.15” wide and comes vacuum packed for long term storage before deployment.

This is far better than Glow-In-The-Dark duct tape covered by 3M's transparent all-weather tape in terms of glow factor and ease of application. With one exception: This tape is more rigid, so wrapping around, say, a pen or other sharply curving object causes issue in adherence; but for flat or gently curved surfaces, this is great!
I worried about it getting all stuck together like duct tape but that is not an issue. You do want to keep it in its little ziploc bag or put a rubber band around it to stop it from uncoiling all over the place, since the back is not sticky until you remove the peel-off film. The glow could be brighter: after charging indoors in a room with natural and electric light, you still have to be fairly dark adapted to see it. The plastic glow discs are brighter since they are thicker so can hold more glow powder. And of course tritium markers ($$$) are self powered instead of needing charging. Still, this tape is good for various purposes where you can't use the other types of markers. It is nice and wide and there is a generous supply on the roll.
A little goes a long way. So far I’ve used a scant few inches to mark some tools (mostly pry bars), light switches, and other things I need with some night time or low light pop. It glows well enough to find marked things in the dark. With how much I have left, I don't see myself running out any time soon. Well worth it’s price I think and I fully intend to buy more in the future when I run out.
Very good quality, do you need to find it in the dark? Good use this
Plenty of easily seen tape to mark items that need to be found in the dark.
