A Great Little Light

This replaces small Olight keychain light, which I really like, and have used for years. The TopoTorch is just a little larger than the Olight, but the controls are so much simpler. Just a little button. No ****/unscrewing the lens turret to turn on/off.

We'll see how long it lasts, but in my experience, Maratac stuff is tough and long lasting, so I expect both great performance and great reliability and longevity.

Excellent keychain light

Great UI, though “moonlight” is bright for true moonlight purposes; still, this is a keychain light, and perfect for that role.

Great little light for the price!

So I've had this little light for 3 months now and for some reasons below, I find myself using it more than I ever thought I would. In fact I use it more than the more traditional single AAA and AA Maratac lights I have. I think the reasons are 1.-the box shape means it stays put on my nightstand and doesn't roll and makes it easier to grab somehow. It also makes it easier (for me) to carry in my pocket and to find in my pocket. 2.-it feels more natural in my hand than a tubular light of this same size. 3.-everthing about the switch just feels right. The amount of pressure, the placement, the texture, the shape. Plus I don't have to twist a head to turn it on or to cycle through the modes, so it is easier to use with just one hand. 4.-I like that it is re-chargeable and has an easy to use and read state of charge indicator at this price point. 5.-it feels pretty durable too. If there was a downside, I'd say it is that I don't see any way to replace the battery at some point, but I haven't really tried because I haven't had the need to and I don't want to break into it needlessly until I have to. Even if it isn't replaceable, I doubt I will need to for a long time and maybe never would since it is so inexpensive.
When I say I use this thing all the time, here is what for (I think a lot of you will get it when I describe this). When the cats knock something off the dresser or nightstand in the night, this is quick and easy to grab and use. When I drop something and it goes underneath something, this is the light I've been grabbing first. In these winter months, it gets dark early, so when I get home I grab this light to go out and get the mail. When the power goes out, it is usually at night and for just a little while, and this is the one I have been grabbing for that. The moonlight mode is good for a little illumination in the bedroom for that. Drop something under your car seat? Yep, this is what I tend to grab. Looking under the sink or in the cabinet for something way in the back? Check. Just about anything where I need a lower powered light where I don't need to burn a hole through something with the power of the sun and don't want to impact my night vision. Personally, I just leave it in moonlight mode and it is plenty for all of these tasks. I think I'll bet another one or two of these.
