CR123 Battery Locker - Great for pills!

Perfect size for my daily pills or a few pain pills when I'm away from home. Only issue was the initial smell inside. Funky!

Almost perfect

I ordered three of the AA lockers. I took an Energizer lithium and put it in the first locker. It almost went in all the way.

Despite KNOWING it would get stuck in there I pushed it in the rest of the way. Yes, it sort of clicked in. Because of the locker design there was no chance of taking it out with my fingers.

Having prepositioned my Leatherman I now used the pliers to grab the top post and pull the battery out.

An inspection of the inside revealed rough machining around the base of the locker. The resulting flashing, loose, but still attached to the locker, was locking in the battery.

I was concerned now about the other two. But fortunately those were properly finished inside and the same battery slid in and out easily.

A good design overall and I understand the dimensions are such that the o-ring seal can be in the cap instead of around the body ...

BUT

.... if the battery gets stuck in there for some reason, and you don’t have needle nose pliers, you can’t get any finger pad on the battery to pull it out.

I would recommend bringing the threads down to leave at least an 1/8 inch of battery exposed, just in case. Yes, I know, the o-ring would have to be on body.

Perhaps then a double open case design.

Great for the EDC pouch

Used this to replace a similar capsule which was aluminum but was getting scratched up in my EDC pouch. Tighter tolerances too for the battery, very precise machining. These things are well made, but I don't think I would keep anything edible in them as they do have funky smell inside. I would go with a metal one for pills or edibles. Other than that, great little capsules.

Bombproof stuff!

A bit overkill for whatever you could fit, but that's exactly what I want! :D

Not just a battery case

I use these to stash my meds, vitamins, mints, bandaids, and cash when I'm about to get on a boat here in the islands.
