We had several requests for super strong food grade tins. When Uncle Sam helped out with a large order, we decided to make a few extra for our loyal CC customers. The food grade steel tins are great to store pills, spare parts, tools, EDC & survival kits. Some folks even use them to construct electronic projects.
These handy boxes measure 2.05" x 1.10" x .45". Yes, these are brand new. They are 2.5 times the weight and thickness of similar size tins. Mini tin has a slide lid.
Large With Laser Etched Topography Design:
These handy boxes measure 3.70" x 2.32" x .82". Yes, these are brand new. These are 2x the weight of similar size tins do to a much thicker structure.
Side Note : 6 of the mini tins fit inside the large tin
These things are stout! They feel twice as sturdy as Altoids tins. The mini size is perfect for mustache wax.
I'm using the large tin, along with seven of the mini tins, as a pill box. Of course, one day of the week won't fit in the large tin which isn't a problem, as I'm usually at home on Sundays anyway, so I just leave Sunday there.
I printed out a warning about the tin's contents and glued it to the inside of the top lid. This made the fit a little tighter, but the lid still closes.
Permanent marker doesn't really work too well (rubbed off after two weeks of use) on the material and sticker labels on the mini tins will likely make the payload too thick for the large lid to close, so I plan on engraving the days of the week on the mini lids.
I'm also considering lining the mini boxes with moleskin to protect the pills from possible damage bouncing around in there.
In all, I feel a lot better using this for my meds than I do the flimsy plastic pill boxes you find in a drug store. It's not perfect, but it is better.
