This is my second key silencer. Works really well. Would have given 5 stars if the hook and loop lasted longer than a couple years.
I have been tearing holes with my key chain in my pants pockets but this little bit of kit solved that. It can handle a little or a lot of keys. Of course it is well made to the usual CC standards.
This worked great for a few weeks, but I found that keys kept slipping OUT of the sheath, no matter how tightly I wrapped and sealed it. After a year or two, the "loop" portion of the hook & loop has gotten worn, fuzzy, ineffectual. Yes, I could sew some more on, but go back to the first problem -- keys just don't stay in here. Would work better if I put this into a tight little pouch, but then why not use the pouch? (CountyComm makes some great ones with internal fixed loops that I've put CountyComm nano double-ring locks onto, perfect for keys and small items!).
Meh.
These are a strap of nylon with velcro, and they were $3 a few months ago. $11.99 is a cash grab at best and a con job at worst.
It's totally worth $3, I would buy 3 if they were sold at a reasonable price.
It is nice and tidy way to keep all items in a neat fashion.
A useful item indeed.
