They Do So Much!
On a visit to our local airport we noticed all the A&P (air frame & power plant) mechanics were sporting these nifty rings to keep their keys and small tools organized. We thought they were so cool we had some made for us. They are made from stainless aviation cable with brass screws and barrels.

A Note From the Legal Department: These are sold as key/tool organizers. Do not suspend yourself or others from it. Yes, it is aircraft cable with associated hardware but do not use them as replacement parts for any aircraft, including Gulfstream G350 or G550. Sorry, tools and keys shown are not included.
I found the 4 inch ring too difficult to use as the cord is quite stiff and it was difficult to bend into a tight circle so as to connect the ends. Will try the next size up as I do like the product.
I picked up a couple of 6" lengths to replace worn-out toe cups on a pair of YakTrax Run and they've certainly held up better than the initial webbing, I just need to commit and put some Loc-Tite in there to hold them locked up.
I often travel with the shorter length, especially when renting a car - I cut the rental tie cable and remove one remote, then loop them back together when it's time to return the rig. It saves space in my pocket, gets rid of the tell-tale rental info fob, and if the company doesn't notice the next renter who looks has the same option.
Great American made wire loop key ring; many uses beyond the key ring application, I also use the to keep a range of small wrenches all together in my kit.
OK... I have found other nearly identical "appearing items for less than half the price. However, under tension, these less expensive keyrings break and separate at the connectors. The weak link in this type of keyring system is the connectors. Your keys will then fall according to all tlhe laws of gravity when the connectors fail. AP rings are much sturdier and do not weaken at the connectors. The County Com AP rings have yet to fail me. I like the smooth finish on the coated nylon versions, not bare wire. If you're hanging something you don't mind losing, just decorating, then get the cheap competitors version.
