Definitely a great cheap watch. Haven't worn a watch since I left the military over 10 years ago. Very lightweight with good build quality and won't feel bad banging it around at work.

I love them, there is one in every bag I own. Just returned from Europe and it kept my life on the right day and time zone. Pair it with 5vkb6 and your watch buying will be over for years! All it lacks is a calculator for full NERD mode.

For the price and style it's tough to beat. Almost all the functions you could want for basically $25 and it looks good. However, a couple of features would make it better. 1) You cannot mute the beep feature when pressing the Mode/Function buttons or changing the time. Kind of kills the element of surprise or secrecy if you need/want it. You can mute the chime and alarm features but not the Mode/Function buttons. 2) There is no countdown timer. It's a basic, useful feature on most digital watches these days in the comparative price range. For the price, I did buy three of them and am satisfied overall.

Got this to replace a cheap Casio. That watch worked fine but has a proprietary resin band that eventually wears out. Rather than hunt for an affordable replacement band I ordered this Throw-Down watch. I like it a lot. The band on this won't crack and tear like a plastic one, it has good titanium hardware and is easy to replace if necessary. Nice that it comes with extra springbars. The case is big and a little clunky, but it really protects the face from abrasion and keeps the buttons from being pushed by accident. I left the peel-off plastic cover on the crystal to add a little more protection. I absolutely love that these things have a terse feature set instead of coming with every useless function imaginable. It's crazy being forced to spend ten minutes figuring out function modes and button-pushing sequences just to bump the time zone or whatever. I wear a watch to quickly check the time, day and date. For complications I can always pull out my phone. This is designed to be a watch, not a computer with a bad user interface. Less is more. The EL backlight on these watches works well too. Best feature? Twenty-five bucks!

This watch is lightweight, aesthetically pleasing and above all simple. Pairs well with a strap compass. It's the quick and dirty g shock you've been looking for.
