Maratac® did it again. They took the U.S. Government specifications watchbands and then made them better. Maratac® made these new bands better and stronger than U.S. Military spec # MIL-S-46383. Maratac® used their ultrasonic drilling process to cut perfect holes that eliminate rough spots around the holes. These new Maratac® Mil Series bands feature non-magnetic Titanium buckles. How could it get better? Maratac® added more colors and larger selection of sizes than Uncle Sam ever thought of.
What are the advantages of Titanium hardware?:

Royal blue and black make for a striking color combination that I don't see enough of. That the thin blue line running the length of the strap signifies support of the police is an extra bonus, something that makes me a little prouder to wear it.
Unfortunately, I ordered a 20mm strap for a watch whose lugs are 22mm apart. No problem. I'll just order a 22mm strap for this watch and add the 20mm strap to another watch.
Anyway, the strap itself seems to be of sturdy nylon with what appear to be laser cut holes. The buckle is matte gray and is engraved with "Maratac,"which makes it a near perfect match for my matte steel watch.
I’ve worn thru several plastic and rubber diver-style straps and found that replacements I’d bought the same time as the watches had shelf lives.
Hence, I tried the Zulu 5-buckle strap for a couple years but due to its stiffness and a heavy watch it would rotate underneath my somewhat dainty wrist. And then I was unwilling to hot-knife a new hole and trim the length on the precisely laser cut nylon so the extra end would stand out away from my aforementioned dainty wrist - despite tucking it back thru the extra buckle.
I mention these situations to promote the Mil-spec strap as the solution I found. It is a single weave of nylon. It is pliable to conform to my little wrist despite the heavy watch and it has a matching material loop to capture the retucked excess strap end which is also precisely laser cut that I’m disinclined to hot-knife. It’s strong. I like it and the style lets me represent being a retired LEO.
