The background:
This is a project we have been working on for two years. Most wrenches are forged from tool steel, but It was determined that this wrench must be Titanium. Why Titanium? It’s extremely corrosion resistant, featuring No/Low magnetic signature. Extraordinarily strong, titanium possesses a greater strength-to-weight ratio than stainless, steel or aluminum. Titanium weighs about 60% less than steel in density, producing tools at nearly half the weight of steel.
This means that the wrench needed to be machined out of a solid billet of Titanium. Making an adjustable wrench in the machine shop is a lot more complicated than it sounds.
Nice and light weight, seems well built. Time will tell, I work at a major international airport, in building maintenance department. I will carry this along with my leatherman. Now if only you made titanium pliers like the Knipex. And a 8 or 10 inch adjustable would be nice too. Thanks for the cool tools.
Do I need it? No, I'm not working around a running MRI. Did I want it? Heck yeah! Just don't tell my wife how much I spent for it. It did turn a few heads amongst my peers, though, with the most heard "wow, it's so light!" The quality is outstanding. I can't put it down, and it has become a new fidget toy for me. Yes, it has been used a few times. As light as it is, it's no problem to carry it around in your back pocket for whatever comes up. This thing, along with many of my County Comm purchases, will be passed down, after I'm done with this world. I can imagine it becoming a family heirloom.
I have the 4” and the 6”, the reason I didn’t buy the 3” is because the worm screw wasn’t fitting right in the groove of the wrench. My Facebook edc group showed the 3” wrench pics with the failed worm screw. These wrenches aren’t meant for heavy duty but the Ti factor makes them non magnetic and useable for light duty. These wrenches could have been better if the holes weren’t drilled out to make them lighter, not everyone want the holes in them. Countycomm should give the buyer a choice of holes or not, the loose wires snagg on the holes when I’m trying to loosen or tighten a nut in a tight area.
I love the wench, great quality but to small. I would prefer to have a 10" long instead of 6", even the pictures show different sizes, but I did not notice any way to by a big one. Maybe in the future I will swing a 10", but for now its just a nice barley 6", I still get a lot of enjoyment from it.
The 6" Titanium Adjustable Wrench is another excellent addition to CountyComm's line of titanium adjustable wrenches. The maximum opening meets the listed 3/4" and the weight meets the listed 2.5 ounces. The adjustment mechanism operates smoothly with minimum wobble in the jaw. I also have the 3" and 4" versions and they are also excellent. The 3" version's maximum opening is just shy of the listed 1/2" specification, while the 4" version's maximum opening exceeded the listed 1/2" specification and easily grabbed a 9/16" nut. All three are excellent wrenches. For my bug out bag where I strive for the most function with the least weight, the sweet spot for me was with the 4" adjustable wrench at 0.9 ounces and the 9/16" max opening. Titanium tools are just cool. Strong and notably lighter. Thanks CountyComm for another great titanium tool!
