Titanium Sewing Kit Card

Wasn't sure when I'd use it, but like all things from CC, it happened. The big barelled oblong shaped boy needed custom tailoring for his sweater vest, so...I learned some basic sewing (using Dyneema CC thread) and held fabric in place with additional titanium needles and voila! Now our guy can poop and piss without having to worry about soiling his clothes. Job well done!

So good, I learned how to sew

I bought this and then taught myself how to sew with it. Knowing even a few basic stitches will make this kit useful. I now feel confident that I could make gear repairs in the field. A good roll of duct tape will get you through in a pinch, but this solution will provide a longer lasting repair if needed. I throw one in my pack or survival kit whenever I'm out in the woods. Another CountyComm original. These titanium cards (like the fishing kit as well) are a big improvement over the cheap competitor versions made out a tin. These tools, you can bet your life on. By the way, the Dyneema thread will work great with this kit.

Sewing kit card

Great idea. For future runs, forget the buttons. Offer more needles, including one full length needle for punching thicker material. One corner of the card should have a small convex dimple for use as a thimble.

For a rare emergency

A great item for that rare sewing emergency: wrap some Dyneema cord around it and forget it until you need it.

Great back woods sewing kit.

What? Well I have been sewing since 1957, as a cub scout.

This card was used the day I received it!

I needed a Curved Needle to do some ballistic nylon "REUSE".

I did do two things to the needle, once removed from its "home": I removed the small nub where it was Joined to the plate, And I did some detailed sharpening on the needle point and its shaft.

I found that the Factory edges for the first half inch PREVENTED the easy inserting of the needle into my (800 denier) nylon.
So, I sharpened that area with a Ceramic Stone approximately 1000 grit.

That was all it took, the smoothness allowed my needle to puncture through, and gave enough on the other side, to pull it with pliers.

I have a small metal (Altoids Style) flat can that I carry the plate and exacto knife and a small "dental Floss" type container of thread (locate on this website). It sews great, and is unbreakable the way I sew!
