Over the years I've purchased various generations of this pouch. Unsurprisingly, I am most pleased with Rev 4. But for the zipper I find it is waterproof. Its extra size makes insertion/removal of credit cards easy. Like its predecessors, it is an extremely useful and versatile product. My latest application for it is as a key pouch. I think it's County Comm's best answer for keys storage.
I bought this to house the keys for the car I rarely drive(my wife's car). The key pouch protects the key fob, discourages accidental door locking, and keeps the rattle to a minimum. The larger size make it easy to put the key fob inside. My only complaint is the zipper doesn't allow full opening of the pouch.
I've carried a previous version for years and greatly appreciate it. But I always thought I could use just a tad more room inside. This revision fixes that!! It's amazing how much small, basic EDLC gear fits inside and I just added the Screw Key Ring Set from County Comm.
I have like 3-4 of the Rev 3 pouches, and absolutely love them, however, the Rev 4 are a completely different story, at least to ME.
The PVC lining to make them more water resistant is nice. And upon first look inside, they look great, however, because of the upgraded inside stitching with the nylon webbing going around it (most likely to make the interior stitching last longer) has one BIG drawback, at least on the one I got. It prevents the zipper from closing completely. That's a pretty big bummer if you ask me. Hopefully mine was the only one like that!!!
Another drawback IMO is the fact that there's stitching on BOTH ends and the bottom of the pouch, vs just the bottom and ONE side having stitching on the Rev 3. Again, this makes the zipper very hard to close all of the way, and because of that, I don't really trust anything of value inside of it. It just doesn't seem to be as well made as the last version.
And lastly, the nylon webbing of the pouch itself seems to be inferior and not as dense as the Rev 3. My Rev 3 can probably outlive a nuclear disaster, but i don't feel the same way about the newest version!
No biggie though, I'll just keep change and loose items in it and make it usable for something. But my dreams of making this into a work wallet (I'm a house painter FWIW) like I have done with the Rev 3, are unfortunately gone.
Overall, a decent little pouch with good stitching, and I like that the interior stitching is covered with a nylon webbing all around it inside, but for ME, I'll take my Rev 3 over the Rev 4 any day of the week 😉
