The background:
This is a project we have been working on for two years. Most wrenches are forged from tool steel, but It was determined that this wrench must be Titanium. Why Titanium? It’s extremely corrosion resistant, featuring No/Low magnetic signature. Extraordinarily strong, titanium possesses a greater strength-to-weight ratio than stainless, steel or aluminum. Titanium weighs about 60% less than steel in density, producing tools at nearly half the weight of steel.
This means that the wrench needed to be machined out of a solid billet of Titanium. Making an adjustable wrench in the machine shop is a lot more complicated than it sounds. Over 7 hours of machining is needed to create just a single wrench!
Why Titanium?
Titanium is a great material for wrenches because of its unique combination of properties. Some of the most important properties of titanium that make it suitable for use in wrenches include:

Lightweight: Titanium is much lighter than other metals commonly used in wrenches, such as steel. This makes it easier to handle and reduces user fatigue during extended use.

This titanium tool is not only well made, tuff and impervious to exposures fro weather, salt and oxidation. It is also a really great value because fine tools made of titanium can easily cost over four figures. My only criticism is that its opening falls just short of 1 1/4”. I now have two….
Must haves for tool overpackers!
I use this for wreck diving, and it’s lasted so far. I only have one dive with it, but the weight saving and anti corrosion properties alone are worth it. Also nice to have as a lightweight car/travel tool kit.
Crazy expensive and crazy good! You have to hold one in your hand to truly appreciate how light, a strong, fully functional, large, adjustable wrench can be. My eyes see it in my hand and my brain does a double take trying to reconcile the light weight. The machining is top notch with no sharp edges. If you can afford it, go for it, you will not be disappointed. It is the crown jewel of my titanium tools. How about some titanium pliers next Mike?
