Did I need it? No, but certainly a want that is truly enjoyable to use. I work as a framer and it works wonders as a demo bar. The rest of the crew all wanted to try it out.
On tools I don’t review till I test. I modified a spiral staircase and beefed it up by running an 1/4” thick 3.5” pipe through a thinner walled 4” pipe. We estimated the stairs at around 1100 lbs. used a large chock block when we hoisted it up for the beginning stage. Then was able to put 2 smaller wedges at the end, using a heavy duty Stanley pry bar and the stairs were at a 45 degree angle. When I got the stairs at a 90 degree angle, the bar started bending. I am now lifting the stairs straight up towards the ceiling and my Stanley is now stuck and bent. I pulled out this smaller 12” hooligan tool. My wife laughed, said it was going to break. Tried the rolling side but couldn’t get it high enough. Then used the flat side, using my foot for the power, this little
Tool picked it right up. Pulled the Stanley and 2 small wedges right out! Great tool! I even had my doubts in the beginning. I thought it could snap, it didn’t. Great tool at a great price. I recently just bought the smaller 8” hooligan, will most likely be used when I install the gun safe.
I like the tool, but the only down fall is they only allow you to order two at a time. They also sell out of this item quickly.
I bought the 8 inch Hooligan tool, and this one is just as versatile, only beefier. Super well made.
I bought this a while back because it looked cool, but I didn’t know when or if I’d use it. It’s been living in my car as a “what if” tool. The other day I needed to repurpose an old wooden pallet for a project, and this tool was perfect for the job. I had all the nails out, and all the boards separated without any damage in about 5 minutes. Sure, I could have used a crowbar and claw hammer, but why when I have this? I think that the 12” version is the perfect size for most tasks. It goes without saying that it’d be a nasty self defense tool as well, but hopefully I never have to test that theory.
