2 Modes ( Constant Low / Constant High )
Kit Includes - Battery Holder So You Can Select 4xAA's or a Single D-Cell to Power Your Light & Enough Spare Orings To last You A Lifetime
The 1D was developed based on our proven TLL platform to provide amazing throw and runtimes on a single D Cell or even 4 AA Batteries. Once we started fielding the 1D, we quickly discovered that they had more uses that did not include aircraft. Here’s some of the ways we are using the 1D around here:
It makes a great camping lantern. It illuminates the entire tent on low power and provides a nice reading light.
When camping, I gave one to my little girl. It’s big enough where she won’t lose it and rugged enough so she can’t break it. She can sit it down on it’s flat bottom and use the light. Probably most importantly, I don’t worry about her draining the battery. The 1D belongs in every “GO Bag”, car, boat, first aid kit, actually every where. If you set up emergency LZs for a living, you may already know about the versatility of the 1D, If not think of all the places where you could use one.
A Note From The Legal Department: As with all cool stuff, “battery not included”. We do not recommend the use of higher rated voltage lithium cells rechargeable batteries with this flashlight. It is designed to use a off the shelf Alkaline, Eneloop & Lithium. Any attempt to modify these lights will void the warranty. No battery or tripod included.
The biggest selling point for this flashlight is its versatility - D cell or AA batteries, something you won't find with any other flashlight. Like all Maratac lights, this one is well made; very, very bright; and durable to the point of being indestructible. It's not lightweight, but if you're packing a D cell flashlight, weight isn't your primary concern anyway. Highly recommended.
I'm always on the lookout for a good quality flashlight. Bought my first Maratac (Aluminum AAA) about 3 weeks ago. Have already put it through its paces. Saw this 1D Maratac fashlight and had to have it. Going to put it in my vehicle's kit as a backup to my ole trusty 4D Maglight. Love the versatility being able to switch between 4 AAs or 1 D. A great well built light.
The form factor is what makes this light. You can choose between a D cell or the AA cell adapter, and it is really tough! A nice touch is the 1/4 - 20 threaded connector on the base so you can securely mount it on a tripod. This is a very rugged flashlight - on high beam it gives you plenty of time for tasks, on low beam you get about a day of emergency illumination. During a power outage, we used ours on low beam, set it on the kitchen table (pointed at the ceiling), and had enough light for our open area and to read by.
Emergency light, recently lost power for a few hours and 1D Flashlight worked great. On low it was still bright enough in the room for me to read a book and on high. It's bright enough to find any lost item in the room, ie removed any tripping hazard your may not have noticed. I'll keep one of them next my bed for the next power outage. To insure I'm not a blindman trying to navigate the minefield that is my house.
