We do not recommend the use of 10440 rechargeable batteries with this flashlight. It is designed to use a off the shelf alkaline, lithium, NiMH or Nicad AAA batteries. We do not recommend use of higher voltage batteries. Any attempt to modify these lights will void the warranty. We know when you try to remove the pill...
These little Maratac AAA’s are amazing for light EDC carry. The have the same general form factor as the Lumintop Tool AAA, only they’re slightly shorter. This allows the light to disappear in your pocket. The three modes are great for almost everything I run into in my automotive shop. I prefer the warmth of the Nichia 219 Emitter, but the Cree works well in this application also.
I own both the copper and the brass variant, of this light, and if I could find the titanium version, I’d scoop it up immediately. They’re great little lights. The only downside I can see is that If you’re doing serious lighting throughout the day, a click-style switch would probably be slightly more convenient.
I own an Olight i5t, an i3t, an i1r, both brass and titanium Lumintop Tool AAA’s, a Lumintop Tool AA & FW3T, a RovyVon Aurora A2, and out of all of them, my copper and brass Maratac AAA’s are my favorite. There’s just something about them that hits that perfect balance of utility and ease of carry.
I’ve bought 5 of these lights over the last couple years, 3 of those being in the last couple months. They’re great, perfect for EDC! I started with a brass one and loved it so much I bought my dad a titanium one for Christmas last year. Then the Cooper Rev 6 came out and I snagged two for the introductory price. Gave one to my son, kept one for myself, and passed my original brass one on to my 10 year old daughter. Now I just ordered a brass one for my mom because she was saying how nice my dads one was. The lights are the best.
This little guy is incredible! It replaced my olight as my EDC flashlight, super bright would highly recommend to anyone looking. I do wish it had a power button as opposed to the twist on/off but that's super minor and ultimately personal preference.
