After the outstanding response we received with the Standard Stainless Steel Peanut Lighter our staff members wondered what could be done to make it better. Why not Copper? The CU peanut lighter will naturally oxide and change everyday with use, while adding character to a wonderfully useful EDC tool.
Here's what we came up with to improve it:
- Manufactured it out of commercially pure grade Copper
- Made it flat on the end so it can be used as an candle in an emergency.
- Removable lighter insert allows it to be used as a waterproof pill vial

After numerous responses and requests with the Standard Peanut and Split Pea Lighters our staff members wondered what could be done to make it better. The answer is make it bigger and also increase the size of the spark wheel for even easier use with and without gloves. These two changes make a dramatic difference in extended runtime and versatility of use in any condition. The XL Peanut Lighter is also perfect for extended trips where you will need more than a few days of firestarting.

This lighter is very well designed and manufactured with a robust, simple, reliable and easy to maintain mechanism. I particularly like the air proof seal which means that the lighter fluid does not evaporate. With its large storage capacity this means that the lighter can be used for months without needing to refill it. Highly recommended. The copper version looks very good in addition to working very well.
