Using A Single Duracell AA battery we got the following results:
A Note From The Legal Department: We do not recommend the use of 14500 Rechargeable batteries with this flashlight unless its an Eneloop Cell. It is designed to use off the shelf alkaline, lithium, NiMH or Nicad AA batteries. We do not recommend use of higher voltage batteries. Any attempt to modify these lights will void the warranty. We know when you try to remove the Pill.
It’s everything the write up says it is and more. Probably gonna look into a rechargeable battery for it because I’m finding any excuse to use it just for the hell of it.
This is a quality product. The machining is extraordinarily precise, the threads engage smoothly, without the gritty feel of the aluminum and titanium models, and the new emitter unit is just outstanding. I'm very happy with it.
Great little light. The only ding is that the threading is a bit more rough than I would prefer.
The copper version is my second Maratac AA Flashlight. This new copper unit is very similar to the older aluminum version which has worked perfectly for several years despite a shattered glass lens. The high/low/medium light setting is familiar from the older version, and the light output is comparable. The colour of the copper has a somewhat pinker tone than I expected, but I assume it will patina over time to a more interesting look. I appreciate the copper's mildly antiseptic property, although the residual metallic scent it leaves on the hands is a notable factor. Overall a quality product which I recommend.
