Gen 2 - Now Includes Custom Maratac™ Ballistic Nylon Pouch
Yes, the folks here at CountyComm are different than most. Here is our new favorite game in the break room. We have been practicing the age old art of "lock manipulation" as a game among coworkers competing for the best time to open the lock. Here's a game that is fun and will teach you valuable skills.
The game includes one set of tools and a clear practice padlock that really helps you understand the workings of a simple multi pin padlock and is packed in a custom Maratac™ ballistic nylon pouch. There's room in the pouch for other tools and practice locks as your skills improve (and they will).
Amaze your friends, while preparing for your new career as a locksmith.
I am recovering from orthopedic surgery and part of the pain management is “diversion” meaning think of something else. This training kit fills the bill. It also makes me rethink the axiom “locks are for honest people."
I ordered this out of curiosity only. The day before the package was set to arrive I foolishly locked the keys to the shed in the shed. Didn’t really want to cut the lock off with bolt cutters. Waited a day and received this kit in the mail. Took the pick set to the shed and was in the shed in an uncomfortably short amount of time. Crazy what you can do with the knowledge and tools.
The tools are great. The practice lock is not. Good value. Practice on some locks from the dollar store.
For what CountyComm sells, this must be one of the worst products. I don’t believe this is their fault because this seems like a third-party product knowing the county come sells first rate products or products that are made in the USA. The lock design seems to be subpar at best with the lock mechanism being able to be opened just by using the tension tool and putting pressure on the lock cylinder.
Tools themselves are also sub par with them being very sharp corner and will they finish like sandpaper grips the sides of the inner wall cylinder and it’s difficult to feel what the user Should be picking.
I feel as though I’m picking the paint in the finish off the inside a cylinder instead of the pins themselves.
Lastly the tension tool is probably the only item in here that has a very nice finish. The tension tool in this kit is nowhere near the correct size and often slips on the lower part of the cylinder while playing pressure make it difficult for the user to put pressure on the driver pins.
I’m not happy with this product buyer beware.
