MADE IN THE U.S.A.
When a client requested we locate and procure "Surgical Prep Razors" we thought it was just another routine request, until they arrived. These are the sharpest production blade we have ever seen. We have started to use them everywhere. They make great additions to survival kits. They are perfect companions to our fire starters. Our resident expert on desert survival tells us that they are issued as an component in some U.S. military survival kits.
A note from our legal department:
This cutting instrument was brought to our attention because of it's unusual sharpness. This could be considered by the law as either a pocket knife or straight razor. You, the purchaser are responsible for compliance with your local and state laws. We will not knowingly ship to locations where straight razors are prohibited. As we have already made clear, they are very sharp. You must be 18 years old to purchase. You are responsible for its safe, appropriate use.
These things go into every medical kit and tool pouch I own, I refuse to be without them.
It's handy and cheap.
I bought several of these to replace old-style, single-edged surgical prep blades in my medical kits. Having a folding protective cover protects the blade and reduces the risk of accidents. Plastic cover is heat resistant to permit autoclaving and chemically resistant so is not affected by disinfectants and cleaners. I repack in sterile medical-grade wrapper for stowage.
I bought a couple to have around for opening boxes or cutting string. They are well made and the pivot point feels solid. I tested the razor out and it is indeed very sharp. If the handle was not well made I would be nervous to cut with it, but it closes tightly and does not wiggle or feel loose when open.
