A heavy duty blade and light handle make it a great combination. Handle says deep forest green but looks black to me, so much the better. Lastly, the assisted open could be a little stiff to get started for those with smaller hands, but once it gets going it opens with a vengeance! All in all a great EDC.
This knife is a great knife! I’m retired military, and have a particular appreciation for D2 steel because it can take a beating, as well as can hold a great edge!
The knife has a very nice profile, and fits perfectly in my hands, and in my pocket, with plenty of grip, yet not so grippy as to chew up the fabric of my pocket.
The “saber” blade in my opinion is really more like a hybrid between a tanto blade and a true saber blade (as you can see in the pics), which I actually really like! I think the shape of the blade makes it feel longer than a 3.25” blade, which is a good thing! Also, the stone wash finish of the blade is very nice looking, and low reflection, which almost makes this a knife that could be carried tactically. My only recommendation would be for the blade clip and the other stainless steel pieces of hardware on this knife to be either blacked-out or stonewashed as well, to make this a knife that could be carried in an environment where the reflection off of your gear could get you killed.
I typically avoid automatics and blade-assist knives, because I see the mechanisms as extra weight, places to potentially catch dirt and corrosion, and there’s the possibility for accidentally deploying your blade; and a nice flipper with a good bearing shouldn’t need any assistance. And I would have actually preferred this knife as a pure flipper without the blade assist, but that’s not what was offered. However, the blade assist mechanism on this knife seems to be very well incorporated into the bearing (hopefully all nice and sealed up), and works very well, I’ll update this review if there ends up being issues down the road.
Overall, I would recommend this knife, and now that I’m a city-slicker, suburban warrior, it’s my new favorite!
I’m going to give it 4-stars only because it appears that this was intended to be a tactical knife, but some key details were missed to make it a true tactical knife…is that too harsh?
Nicely done once again Boker and Cc custom. Well made flipper!
Lightning fast. Super sharp. Rock solid.
One of the best knives I’ve had the pleasure to utilize and now my “go to” tool for the great outdoors!
What can I say… I’m a sucker for Micarta. This is a great knife. Absolutely nothing to complain about. It’s a fair price for a knife that is razor sharp out of the box. It functions well, and it looks great. The only discrepancy is that it isn’t a frame lock as the description states, it’s and liner lock. It doesn’t affect my affinity for the knife at all, but it may make a difference to some.
