Fill your coin pocket with some glow!

This knife is somewhat special. It fits exactly into the coin pocket of my jeans. A small fob might be added for easy retrieval. The Gitd works well, as usual by CC products.

The blade shape is somewhat odd. No sharp point, but good for cutting (long cutting edge). Certainly not for stabbing... Edge is held well.

As BIG as it looks!

Firstly, I'm a sucker for Glow-In-The-Dark items, especially those from CountyComm, which definitely have long persistence once exposed to daylight, especially direct sunlight. Their GITD tape is excellent, if a bit stiff for wrapping around less than an inch diameter, their markers are also excellent. The larger the surface area the better.
So, this D2-Re-Action folder with UGM scales is right up my alley. The UGM scales appear to be made from the large, 3"x2" UGM block stock, then fashioned to the liners of the folder - and, boy, does it glow! The liners may both be Titanium - the locking liner is so advertised as Titanium. The hollow-ground, drop-point blade is made from D2, comes very sharp, and is even coated with a thin film of oil of some sort (D2 can rust). Perhaps the oil is from lubing the bronze washers at the pivot - VERY smooth action. I'd coat with Ballistiol or Mineral Oil. The open construction means no accumulation of debris, and an easily cleaned folder.
The folder is very well made, fits well in-hand, and is quite lightweight for what it is. And it is unexpectedly BIG... maybe FAT is more appropriate. In fact, the sweep of the open blade will remind you of an Ulu (Alaskan native-style fish processing knife).
Like in the photo this 'small', '5th-Pocket' folder sports a VERY high blade of adequate thickness,, sharpness, and strength for most outdoorsy uses. With a sufficiently strong wrist flick, one can open and lock the blade; almost anyone can do this just thumb-lifting the blade a bit by the slot and flick it open.
3" Long by 2" High by 1/2" Thick, yes, it can fit in your 5th Pocket, but likely nothing else can fit along with it. Nice it has a lanyard hole, another feature I enjoy on a knife.
What can you use it for? Simply impress your friends. Cut and open stuff up. Use it unlocked and gently baton 1" or so kindling to tinder-shards or lock it and slice shavings and feathers. Cut up sausages and cheese for a trail lunch. True backpackers know you don't need a Rambo knife on the trail, and with the UGM scales, you'll find this wherever you set it down, still glowing all night long.
A practical EDC? Sure. A hunting or bushcraft-capable knife? Nope. A fun and useful GITD pocket pal? Absolutely.

I ordered this due to the lume more than anything - and that is fantastic! Turns out, this is a nice little knife overall. Definitely sharp and great for my daily mundane tasks like opening boxes and cutting cord. Fits well in the pocket and is very unassuming. The only issue I had, which was easily remedied with some loctite was the little screws would come undone........2 of them on the first day I used it.

Handy, comfortable, and who doesn’t like the glow?

Love the knife, one of my top faves of all so far. Love CountyComm the most out of any online shops I go to.
