Just received the belt this afternoon, been wearing it since right after getting it in my hands! Been considering it for awhile, finally got it! I wrapped it around my waist as shown in most of the images then, put it on “inside out” so that the seam on the loop end is inside and the end of the buckle that most complain about sticking out is under/inside the belt, the extra length is tucked in under the belt. The trick is to get the length right as you won’t be able to adjust it once it’s “buckled”. But once it’s on, it stays tight. With the end of the buckle under the strap, it becomes kinda minimal, looks good and feels much more comfortable than my other belts and is adjustable enough to let out if I decide to carry a full sized pistol concealed. AGAIN, County Com doesn’t disappoint!
so This may be my favorit belt! it keeps you pants up, does not come loose, does not bind or rub into some of us that are packing in to much. The nylon is very thick and will last for years nonmagnetic Ti buckle is simple and works well. Will buy spare for back-up Thank you again JLM
I have no complaint for the belt, easy to figure how to reverse. Thick belt and the best part is Titanium buckle. P.s My local delivery service "lost" the package, County were quick to act and send the replacement. Leaving Canada for a while.
Too solid. If you ever need to disrobe quickly, this belt is not for you. If you need a black belt that will last a long time, this belt may be for you.
During my last big hike my trusty leather belt was proving both too flimsy to secure some dangling kit and interfering with a new pack's belt; intermittently pinching me and eventually chewing a hole in my shirt...so I was in the market for a strong, light, low-profile belt. Grabbed this as soon as I saw it and haven't been disappointed.
Other reviews have noted how the default setup forces the back end out to either poke you in the belly or hook things. I rearranged it so the tag end returns along the opposite face of the buckle, pulling it completely flat. There's now belt passing from both sides through the hook hole which ends up really helpful because the extra material locks the loop into place with a bit of friction. The next version would benefit from adding a third slot on the remaining flat area of the buckle so the fold-back can help flatten it without using the hook space OR cut down the unused flat space and save material cost/weight.
The other limitation is the tiny cross-section at the root of the hook (~6x5.5mm). My back of the envelope calcs for Grade 4 Ti suggest yielding (483MPa σ_y) with a belt tension somewhere in the range of 80 (worst case belt loop slips to the tip of the hook) to 170lbs (belt stays centered). Should be fine and even act as safety link for some uses but feels light for a gear belt. Beam stress varies with thickness cubed so even just 50% more thickness around the bend would triple the bending strength. It doesn't have to be a climbing belt but it would be a shame to bust the hook with a momentary load of a few hundred pounds from snagging a pouch or tool holster while climbing off something.
