Another great product from countycomm I ordered one for my keys and my wife wanted one too so I ordered for her too
Very handy. Flush with alcohol if release gets gummy or dirty. Very easy to operate one handed. Direction of release is important..
This very compact and lightweight QD is small, sturdy and strong. It does take effort to open so it will not open accidentally in my use case. I use it for a camera safety tether so its not used in a confined space like a pocket. It basically just hangs there.
Although, the direction that it is installed can help eliminate accidental disconnects. Keys/object is connected to female end so if you grab the fob (or whatever) out of your pocket, it has less of a chance to open as it is dragged out of your pocket. It depends on which end you grab. But yes I can see how it can pop open inadvertently.
It is beautifully machined.
For v2, If the male part was flush with the dimpled part it would make it harder to catch on stuff and maybe a stronger spring.
This is a solid piece of titanium gear. I love everything titanium and County Comm is the best place to find nice titanium stuff for a really good price.
That being said, it is a little too easy to inadvertently separate the two halves. I have found half my key layout in my pocket without intentionally actuating the locking sleeve on several occasions.
Had a cheap QD on my keychain for the last ~10 years that was getting loose and looked grungy as all hell. This thing feels tight, and after the adjustment period of learning how it disconnects it feels a lot nicer. Would recommend. I'm thinking of getting another for my work keys!
