Exceeds expectations much more versatile than my GP5. Great portable highly recommended.
I've been using radios since the late 60s and have had dozens of them. I also have the GP-5 which is a great little radio. The GP-7 is straightforward and easy to use. I am pleased how selective and sensitive it is. Audio seems a bit improved over the GP-5. I'm not a big fan of the BL-5C battery and would have preferred AA cells but there wasn't enough room with the addition of the keypad. The optional accessory 2 batteries and charger helps and is inexpensive enough. The form factor isn't ideal as portable radios go but it does fit in a pocket nicely. The plug-in MW antenna works well, I can easily DX stronger stations 1000 miles with it and locals come in loud and clear.
I copied CW clearly and the bandwidth filters are well chosen.
I really like this radio and highly recommend it.

CountyComm this radio out performs the Eton Elite Executive and the Tecsun H501X and every single radio I own to date. Portable, easy to operate and extremely sensitive without overloading the quality sound of the radio speaker. A friend of mine has the Tecsun Digital PL-368 and it is NOWHERE NEAR THE QUALITY, SOUND, SENSITIVITY of the CountyComm gem.

Great addition to a bug out bag or survival kit, perfect for hiking and backpackers, too. Spare BL-5C batteries are less than $4 and micro usb charging make the GP-7 super versatile. I ordered the wind up antenna and solar charging panel for a complete set. Performance is close to my other SW portables but the GP-7 is much lighter and smaller.
First of all, I got radio manufactured in August 2022, as it marked on the battery compartment instead of 2023 year. Mv,Fm are capable of getting some stations, but less than my Tecsun PL-880.Sw band not single station even with external antenna, compared with Tecsun PL-880,speaker very small, and below average,ETM feature big plus
