A battery management system (BMS) is any electronic system that manages a rechargeable battery (cell or battery pack), such as by monitoring its state, calculating secondary data, reporting that data, protecting the battery, controlling its environment, and / or balancing it.
With GP-7 Ferrite Bar Antenna
World's best digital shortwave general purpose, 4 -band shortwave receiver ( We think so... )
Amazing for emergency kits. It also makes an excellent monitor for when you're transmitting and tuning a HAM rig!
The new GP-7 SSB radio is made based on a continued request for an excellent quality general purpose information radio. These radios are re-modified for a specific client request with the help of Edison Fong PHD. We have a few left over to offer to our consumer preppers. Remember, always have a radio and be prepared, we are living in changing times.
CountyComm is pleased to announce the GP-7/SSB radio with excellent HF communications monitoring in a unique handheld form factor and at a great price. The radio covers medium wave 520-1710 kHz shortwave 2300-30000 kHz and the FM band. Unlike most radios in this price category, the GP-7/SSB provides LSB and USB single sideband reception. It has a very unique Easy Tuning Mode (ETM). ETM does more the usual ATS. It scans all frequencies without taking up the memory spaces. So you get quick access to all local stations. Great for the traveler. There are also 850 regular memories ( 100 Longwave, 150 AM, 100 FM, 300 shortwave, 100 SSB & 100 SYNC ) available for tuning into your favorite stations. Another unique feature of the radio is its removable high sensitivity external AM ferrite antenna. This directional antenna clearly enhances AM band reception. The CountyComm GP-7/SSB even employs DSP (Digital Signal Processing) technology, improving clarity and tone quality. There is even an adjustable sleep timer.
Modes : AM, FM, SW, USB, LSB
Sterile Fiberboard Packaging Per Contract Requirements
Limited Supply From Surplus Contract
Warning: Some suppliers are offering aftermarket large ferrite bar antennas for our GP Radios. The weight of the aftermarket antenna causes the AM Bar Antenna Input connector to break internally, losing AM reception. This will void your warranty. (If it was a good idea, we would offer it)

Single screw to replace the antenna.
Misusing or mishandling a lithium-ion battery may cause a FIRE or EXPLOSION which can result in INJURY or DEATH.
You MUST read the safety warnings and resources before purchasing, using, and/or handling batteries.
Received the radio with a fully charged battery. The battery life is good between charges. With the size of this radio and the use of small surface mounted components along with the display light timing out, I think the battery current drain is very low. Since I also own the GP-5 and can say that the expanded features on the GP-7 is defiantly a big improvement. The two drawbacks I find in operating it is, with its smallness, that the added buttons are a little hard to find and access. This gets better in time as I use it. Backlit buttons would help some.
The second thing I found is the operation of the frequency thumbwheel. As I change either frequency or memory with it I am getting a lot of bouncing in the display. Sometimes it seems it will change with just a touch before going through detent. Its like a hair trigger. I’m not sure if this is unique to this particular radio or a matter of its design.
The extra length of the antenna helps in certain received signals. But is barely noticeable. Capturing signals will always depend on antenna length. Especially in the HF regions of the bands where a longer antenna is better.
I have been a Ham for 50 years and have witnessed many changes and now feel that the evolution of the Software Defined Radio (SDR) is as big as the superheterodyne was which replaced the early regenerative receivers.
The radio is good but i also ordered the spare battery and charger and never got it! I emailed couple weeks ago, was told it was shipped, never came! I am trying again to get what i ordered. Come on guys, where is my stuff? Maybe a refund?
Lovely piece of art, I own different collections of portable radios this one is unique, also very simple to operate
The radio exceeds my expectations and it is now part of my EDC.
The radio has exceeded my expectations in performance and features. Highly recommend the silicone case for stability and protection. Also a replacement telescopic antenna and battery kit will keep it serviceable for years to come
