Also the light will not work with standard CR123 or 18650 batteries since the voltage needs to be at least 3V to operate with LVD

This thing is a built like a tank and has a huge throw. The pictures don't do it justice. It is not a small light, but for a handheld light for search and rescue or even walking the dog at night, it's the perfect size. The various brightness levels are easy to use and being able to double-tap the primary power button to automatically switch to the brightest mode is a very nice feature, in the event that you suddenly need to throw a lot of light in a hurry.
The power button is illuminated and always stays on, so if you plan to have this on a nightstand or something, be aware that it will throw a cool-blue light from the power button. This also puts a mild, but constant drain on the batteries, so be aware of this and charge / swap them regularly.
Overall the light is very built. The machining is impeccable and the flat black finish has been durable and looks quite handsome.
This light has amazing power. Exactly as advertised.
All around it is a very handy light to have. I have used it to light up a dark dock area at night for backing my truck in. I was impressed by it much that I now have two. One I keep in my work truck and one for at home
The Maratac flashlights have been absolutely knocking it out of the park with each and every release as of late. The Night Throw is no exception. I was able to instantly dethrone the mayor for life community watch captain as soon as I showed up to a meeting with this light. Thanks to County Comm, now I am lord of the flies, nyuk nyuk.
In all seriousness, the build quality and light output of this unit is phenomenal. At this price point, it’s pretty much a no brainer to add this to your arsenal. The knurling provides just the right amount of grip and is strategically placed in just the right position right after where the heat begins to dissipate. Even the blue anodizing around the switch is just the right hue making this light look like some kind of designer Gucci lightsaber. Maratac for life!
PS, the beautiful crenelated bezel fits perfectly in to the center of the round Maratac coaster. The bezel even comes off with a firm twist for those times you want a less tactical appearance.
Unbelievable. The usual top notch quality. As soon as I got this flashlight it became my daily driver. The multiple levels of brightness, including the Moon mode, make this flashlight extremely versatile.
